Cryonics Information

Sat, Jun 11, 2005; by Anthony.

What is Cryonics? explores the viability of this alternative form of life saving medicine and illustrates its' scientific basis and history.

In The Preservation of the Body we argue that cryopreservation is a reasonable way of coping with medical emergency.

The Ethics of Ontogeny. The modern understanding of death in the West is as informed by medical knowledge as it is by religious belief; death is defined by the failure to support the heart and lungs in keeping the brain fully functioning. But this is not an accurate understanding of death. Furthermore, the sciences of stem-cell research, rejuvenation medicine, and cryopreservation challenge attitudes towards, and definitions of, dying and death. They meet with objections concerned with the moral status of the embryo and the naturalness and necessity of aging and dying. An ethics of ontogeny can form the basis for a rebuttal of these objections by showing the value of human longevity.
